The richest data comes from the environment where behavior really happens. Participants contexts provide a richness that is entirely lost in remote research or secondhand artifacts. <todo>
The approach

Throughout the interview, ensure healthy Data Capture the participant is comfortable with. After the interview, immediately run a Session Debrief to consolidate your impressions, and take time to maintain project hygiene with Well-Managed Data. When appropriate, add new observations to Data Wall. With recordings, plan ahead for appropriate Video Analysis.
